Frequently Asked Questions

Shipping & Delivery

What type of packaging do you use?

Works on paper are placed in a protective plastic sleeve, then packed between cardboard sheets that are wrapped in bubble wrap. Framed items are covered in layers of bubble wrap and then cardboard, with extra protection on the corners.

When will my art arrive?

You can estimate your art's arrival by adding the processing and transit times. We typically process ready to ship orders within 5 business days, and items that require framing within 10 business days.

How do I track my order?

As soon as your art ships, we'll send you a confirmation email that includes a tracking number.

How much will shipping cost?

Shipping is free within Australia except to some regional areas and remote areas. For these areas and international shipping please contact us for a quote prior to purchase.

Is my package insured?

Yes all items are insured during shipping. In the remote event that your package is lost or damaged upon arrival, please contact us.

What happens if only a portion of my order is available for immediate shipment?

We combine similar items in one shipment subject to the processing times of all items in the shipment (see processing & delivery times). If an unexpected delay should occur that prevents available items on your order from shipping when expected, you may specifically request that the available items be shipped separately. Contact us to make a special request.

Can I ship to a P.O. Box?

No we cannot ship to P.O. Boxes. Please choose a shipping address where someone is available to sign for your delivery.

Can I collect my order in person?

Yes, orders can be collected from the studio or our framing service, in the Newcastle Region, by prior arrangement. Please contact us.

International Orders

We ship internationally. International orders will be charged full shipping costs in addition to the full advertised purchase cost of the work. All international orders may be subject to import duties and taxes assessed by local governments and are due upon delivery. This is not included in the order total. All prices shown are in AU dollars and are subject to currency exchange rates.

Returns

We offer returns for damaged or lost goods only. Sorry we do not offer returns for change of mind. We are always happy to send more information or photos of a work prior to purchase. If you are able to travel to Michelle's studio located in Newcastle NSW, Michelle opens by private appointment to view artwork for sale.

Commissions

Do you accept commissions?

Yes, Michelle accepts commissions at her discretion for briefs that are relevant to her practice and style. Michelle works in most subjects including landscape, portraiture, interior and still life. Relevant examples may be provided on request.

Why commission a work?

You may have a particular subject or location you would like created as an artwork for your home or business. Or you may have need of a specific size of work to fit your desired installation location with a particular mood or colour scheme. Or you may wish Michelle to collaborate for a special event. Michelle is very willing to discuss any ideas you may have about the creation of a work. She is experienced at guiding her clients through the commission process to ensure they receive the work they want.

How much does a commission cost?

A commission may be a similar price to recently completely artworks for sale, depending on the dimensions and medium of the work. Additional costs may occur for research or travel associated with completing the commission.

How does the commission process work?

Michelle will discuss with you what type of work you would like and how involved you’d like to be in the process. Creating a work via a commission can have some collaborative elements depending on the client and the desired outcomes. Michelle will work closely with you to understand your vision, or help you create one from which she can develop a work to suit you. Many people are unsure about entering a commission process, however it is the artist's job to work with you to develop a brief that is right for you.
