I'm very chuffed to have been shortlisted as one of 8 finalists across Australia for this prestigious award, administered by the SH Ervin Gallery in Sydney. Congratulations to the other finalists... Nicole Kelly (NSW), Naomi Lawler (NSW), Liam Nunan (NSW), Erika Sorby (NSW), Michelle Teear (NSW), Clare Thackway (NSW), Lucy Turnbull (SA) and Caroline Zilinsky (NSW). We wait with bated breath the announcement of the Winner this week! (Congratulations to Caroline Zilinsky for receiving this award!).

"132 years ago, artist Evelyn Chapman was born. This week the winner of the biennial $50,000 Evelyn Chapman Art Award for young artists will be announced.

The Evelyn Chapman Trust was established by the bequest Pamela Thalben-Ball, Chapman’s artist daughter, and awards a $50,000 scholarship every two years to support a young Australian painter to further their art education both in knowledge and artistic practice. The artist receiving the award can use the scholarship overseas or in Australia, at a recognised and well-established art school or work at an organisation on a program or project that enhances the artist’s artistic skills."
